Talked with a Jehovah’s Witness today

I just wanted to share that a woman called me today about The Main Artery magazine which I haven’t published in over a year now.  The conversation was great and i thank God for having her call.  We talked about so much.  Politics, the state of the world, war and of course art which then led to matters on faith and God.

We talked about many things regarding Christianity.  And there was one thing that i wish I had articulated better.  She/they Jehovah’s Witness folks do not celebrate Jesus’s or anyone’s Birthday because it was a celebration recognized by early Pagans.  The comment i wish that I could have shared was that Jesus came to change/transform all things to good.  With love all things are worth celebrating IF they are holy.   The birth of Jesus is/was/always will be a holy moment that even the angels sang about.  Why can’t mankind?  REJOICE!  One is Holy, One is the Lord Jesus Christ, to the Glory of God the Father – Amen!

We also talked about the differences between faiths.  The Orthodox believe in the Trinity and the J.W. faith does not.  They have a hard time believing/having faith that each of the three – Father, Son and Holy Spirit are 3 in 1.  We talked about the Holy Spirit being one of the Trinity – a being not just an energy.   I share these words from the Faith that has the historical record to back it up “I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son.”   That is scriptural.

But still I say Glory to God in the Highest!  Thank you for the nice conversation and may God Jehovah bless you richly!  May we meet again in Peace on the phone or via internet or in person.
